Project Description:
How can we enable inquiry-based learning in engineering using interactive technology?
The goal of this project is to enhance the educational outcomes of engineering students through Python-based online/offline interactive visual pedagogies that offer more self-paced, inquiry-based learning of engineering concepts. As part of this project, students will create one/two data science modules (s) to teach the underlying concepts of machine learning in the context of chemical engineering and allied applications (spanning materials science, chemistry, biology/bioengineering, energy, and environment). Past modules can be accessed at https://srrweb.cc.lehigh.edu/app/ (use private/incognito mode if not running properly). Students will have the opportunity to learn about machine learning (or enhance their own understanding) and design modules that guide a user (a student with little programming knowledge) to effectively learn the concept. Ideal candidates for the project are students from any major with some experience (and, if not, at least have a keen interest) in coding and developing educational tools.
