Project Mentor: Professor Sarah Borowski, Psychology

Project Description:

How do adolescents’ interactions on social media and IRL affect their adjustment?

This project will update traditional approaches to studying adolescent relationships by integrating adolescents’ online experiences with technology and social media into research on how “offline” friendship interactions affect adolescents’ well-being. Students will explore multiple approaches (e.g., qualitative coding, observational studies, experimental designs, physiological assessments) to studying how teenagers interact with friends across online and face-to-face contexts. Students interested in social sciences (e.g., Psychology, Sociology) will be an excellent fit for this project.
