Project Description:
Air pollution has been identified as one of the biggest threats to human health by the WHO Global Air Quality Guidelines, leading to respiratory disease, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. This project will implement innovative AI (Artificial Intelligence) techniques to provide fine-grained air quality sensing for residents in areas without air quality monitoring sensors. This highly interdisciplinary project will promote collaboration across several disciplines. Students with a background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Industrial Engineering are encouraged to apply, but all interested students are welcome. The team will work on a low-cost air quality sensing system prototype, AI models, and online web pages for public visibility.
