Project Description:
The Neurosalon project is expanding its mission of occupational justice to the Southside of Bethlehem and the broader Lehigh Valley, ensuring equitable access to vital brain health information and therapeutic services regardless of income or insurance status. Grounded in neuroscience, the initiative uses NeuroArts—combining creative expression, storytelling, and science-backed exercises—to deliver engaging pop-up events in local schools, community centers, and senior homes. By bridging healthcare disparities with creative community outreach, Neurosalon transforms complex brain science into accessible, life-enriching tools for underserved populations.
Team members will actively collaborate with healthcare professionals and occupational therapists to design interactive instructional tools, lead multi-modal community events, and conduct Community Health Assessments to evaluate program efficacy and advocate for health equity. From participating in major local initiatives—like the upcoming 3rd Street community block party—to tailoring neuroscience-based practices for diverse groups, you’ll gain invaluable real-world experience at the dynamic intersection of neuroscience, community advocacy, and the arts.
