Project Description:
The overarching goal of the STEM Visualization project is to transform traditional engineering education into a self-paced, inquiry-based experience through Python-based interactive visual pedagogies. To date, fellows have successfully developed a suite of data science modules that teach foundational machine learning concepts within chemical engineering and allied fields, which can be explored on our STEM Visualization Web App (use incognito mode).
Building on this foundation, we are proposing an agentic shift for the upcoming year by introducing a multi-agent AI framework where autonomous AI agents collaborate to generate dynamic educational tools. This pivot creates an interdisciplinary ecosystem: students with a programming bent will build the generative AI architecture and an AI-enhanced revamped web app, while students passionate about pedagogy, design, and user experience will define and shape the modules' learning outcomes, ensuring complex engineering concepts remain intuitive and accessible to novice learners across science and energy domains.
